Art has a greater purpose to serve, often more than what we understand. Coronavirus pandemic has surely put hold on many things including our run in and out for work and in a way has provided us an opportunity to reflect on ourselves and make better choices. Things have slowed down and lives have slowed down as well and in a way teaching us upliftment. However, we mostly don't have many choices in our busy schedule and to spare hours for art becomes difficult. So, it is important to create something quick yet beautiful and thoughtful, I call such pieces "art for upliftment".
This collage is of the tiny paintings I make in my diary when I don't have much time. All I use is a brush pen and handy cake colors. What this does is very interesting, quick results are like mood makers and the bright colors add up to visual appeal. More than anything it gives one satisfaction of having created something, this feeling works like a catalyst for peace of mind. It does not matter if you had a good day or a bad day because creating will only make your day better than it was.
This cute art thing is like doing yourself a favor. To do this favor all you will need is a few minutes, piece of paper, paint of some kind and a pen. Think of a word or a phrase that you like or you have heard somewhere and put it on the paper in as fancy a way as you can, top it with some tiny floral art or simply spray some paint. A phrase or a word you choose can be anything you like and not some typical motivational quote, remember you are doing this for yourself so make what you want to.
Often I think of these miniature paintings as what we call "ray of hope". They are less demanding, time saver, super easy and look colorful and stunning. I think they release happy hormones just like chocolates so do try it out.
A line of your favorite song or a word from the billboard, everything counts. In the comments let me know if you create any such thing and what is your quick art and also any suggestions are welcome.
Keep creating!

I have been through this art form and truly after doing it, it gives a mental relaxation and gentle smile on a face of creater like a child smile when it gets what he or she wanted. A line you wrote in your article says, cute things like this doing us a favor which is completely true, it helps us to change our mood from anger to happier, also nervous to refreshed. I flashed the scene of the movie named "tare zameen par". Long scene short, at the end of movie everyone at the school participated in drawing completion including faculties and dignitaries at the time faculties who has image of strict nature enjoying their art.
ReplyDeleteAnd I felt that scene in your lines.

DeleteThis is amazing. I shall try it now. I had a habit of sketching faces on my notebook back when I was in school and college : just random faces - caricaturish, cartoonish and it used to be a fun activity but never really payed any heed to it. But reading this I realise how even the tiniest of our creation can create such a big impact in our lives, we never know.
ReplyDeleteReally admire your work! Keep at it. ✨
Many thanks! Keep creating ✨
DeleteArt really diverts our attention from pandemic. It takes away tension and frustation which we experience during lockdown. Whatever you have said in this blog is 110% TRUE.
