Mandala will make you dream

Mandala remains one of the arts which is untouched despite being decades old. Mandala has found it's significance in various fields and one most associated one is dream, Mandala can make you dream. Dream bigger and purer. Mandala is used in many therapies for healing and the reason I find for it's capacity for healing is that it makes it capable of dreaming. From the first dot you put on the canvas and start to draw and finish it up, it holds you and makes you sit down in the same position for hours and what one unknowingly achieves is stability and focus. It will be safe to say that Mandala is that corner of the city which is considered to be in the city but is an outskirt area or that corner of the home where one feels that yes there is hope left and life will continue.

Mandala is magic, mandala is focus. In my previous blog I discussed  fusing arts and this time I tried composing together calligraphy, mandala and the motto of my life. If I could name this Mandala piece it would definitely be "never settle for less". Read about Mandala fusion here:  https://artkizubani.blogspot.com/2020/08/mandala-meets-paint.html

When I zoom in I see my dreams spreading wings and reaching out far and meeting possibilities and problems, sorting out one thing at a time and stepping bigger with each step taken. Mandala is a stepping stone! Mandala has its huge reach, from a dot to giant wall. It grows from a dot to giant painting, taking one baby step at a time. It finds its existence from a dot to significant museum, never giving up. Mandala teaches growing, growing with focus. Mandala is similar to having a dream and nurturing that dream relentlessly.  Dreams do come true only if you can dare to dream. Dream big and dare to take up challenges and create a thoughtful impact.

Art comes with a price

Art comes with a price and the price is discipline. In an ideal situation, assuming you have absolutely no other drama going on in life and all you need to do is sit and work on your art, even in this best situation what is required is discipline, routine of creating every single day and making things work. Art is demanding and one undeniable thing is discipline, you need to sit down, create a routine and follow the routine even when you are at your lowest. Great people who have existed and the ones who exist now have one thing in common to say and that is “Take time out and devote it to your art every single day".  Lately, I haven't felt really motivated to do anything but I try my best to be disciplined and put out something and something is always better than nothing. This is one such piece I created out of this mantra, I was not having much of a clue about what I want to create, turned out beautiful. Calligraphy can find its way anywhere, said my teacher and it stuc...

Nothing is better than a classic

Nothing can beat a classic Mandala. In every art form classics remain unmatchable, the timelessness they have cannot be matched and they seem too far away from hiding any poorly treated but true issues. Their backbone is their mirroring quality and impeccable strength to represent the truth. Like a good movie a good painting will definitely remind you about your life, your struggles, your hesitations and the truth hidden behind the sheets of sugar coated lies.  Best art comes out when you are bound; you are put under a number of restrictions. One flourishes under the pressure, limited resources makes us understand the importance of resources and makes us wiser; this happens because our energy gets focused on those limited things and gives space to organize and use them in the best way. It is a kind of a freedom one feels while working with boundaries. You know how big your arena is and how much you are allowed to stretch. While creating this Mandala, I had nothing in my mind....

Flashback: Mandala the life savior

It has been more than two years since I started making Mandalas. When I drew my first Mandala it was just for fun and the curiosity to create something new, since then Mandalas have been like a friend who is always present to listen to me and hold my hand. Over the time we have developed a bond which imparts energy to me and has become my muse. It has helped me get through my worst and cheered me at my best. Evolving with mandalas has been a thing, it is like a friendship. A kind of a friendship in which you know that there is someone at bay, and no matter if it has been months for years without talking but it is just there unconditionally. For me, Mandalas has been this unconditional love and support. It has taught me not just what it is (what mandala is?) but also helped me in awakening a part of myself which is mostly sleeping.   As it is said that Mandalas are a source of energy in itself and rightly so but to me this art is not just any art but something that holds ...
