Mandala magic

Magic of Mandala is like cuddling a child, it makes you smile and one cannot just stop looking at it. The more you look at it the more it gives you energy. That is the reason why Mandala is very significant in human energy science. It can be a stress buster, energy booster or simply a time killer. Just like a baby it has power to fill you with joy. Having said that, it is super helpful in dealing with stress and anxiety as it keeps your mind busy and provokes good thoughts.

Imperfections in Mandalas is one thing which can keep you hooked most because we humans have a tendency to find faults first. As humans we mostly find difficulty in appreciating the efforts. Hence, the success secret behind handmade mandalas is the tiny flaws, in the process of finding mistakes we get to indulge in it deep and this kind of creates space in our head for healthy thoughts. In a nutshell, Mandala's magic lies in its flaws.

In this Mandala I have tried creating a composition keeping just one pattern the same to achieve a composed look. The overall look turned out better than expected while the individual Mandala too stands on its own. Perfect when far and deep when near is how I will describe this piece of art.

Fun fact: You can find a Mandala anywhere around you! And if not you can always create one of your own. Try looking at patterns in a blooming flower, the gas burner of stove, a wheel of your car or simply your hair line structure. They are everywhere!

Look closely you will find tons of mistakes, do share them in comments. Do tell me what magic you are able to see.  Keep creating!

Art comes with a price

Art comes with a price and the price is discipline. In an ideal situation, assuming you have absolutely no other drama going on in life and all you need to do is sit and work on your art, even in this best situation what is required is discipline, routine of creating every single day and making things work. Art is demanding and one undeniable thing is discipline, you need to sit down, create a routine and follow the routine even when you are at your lowest. Great people who have existed and the ones who exist now have one thing in common to say and that is “Take time out and devote it to your art every single day".  Lately, I haven't felt really motivated to do anything but I try my best to be disciplined and put out something and something is always better than nothing. This is one such piece I created out of this mantra, I was not having much of a clue about what I want to create, turned out beautiful. Calligraphy can find its way anywhere, said my teacher and it stuc...

Nothing is better than a classic

Nothing can beat a classic Mandala. In every art form classics remain unmatchable, the timelessness they have cannot be matched and they seem too far away from hiding any poorly treated but true issues. Their backbone is their mirroring quality and impeccable strength to represent the truth. Like a good movie a good painting will definitely remind you about your life, your struggles, your hesitations and the truth hidden behind the sheets of sugar coated lies.  Best art comes out when you are bound; you are put under a number of restrictions. One flourishes under the pressure, limited resources makes us understand the importance of resources and makes us wiser; this happens because our energy gets focused on those limited things and gives space to organize and use them in the best way. It is a kind of a freedom one feels while working with boundaries. You know how big your arena is and how much you are allowed to stretch. While creating this Mandala, I had nothing in my mind....

Flashback: Mandala the life savior

It has been more than two years since I started making Mandalas. When I drew my first Mandala it was just for fun and the curiosity to create something new, since then Mandalas have been like a friend who is always present to listen to me and hold my hand. Over the time we have developed a bond which imparts energy to me and has become my muse. It has helped me get through my worst and cheered me at my best. Evolving with mandalas has been a thing, it is like a friendship. A kind of a friendship in which you know that there is someone at bay, and no matter if it has been months for years without talking but it is just there unconditionally. For me, Mandalas has been this unconditional love and support. It has taught me not just what it is (what mandala is?) but also helped me in awakening a part of myself which is mostly sleeping.   As it is said that Mandalas are a source of energy in itself and rightly so but to me this art is not just any art but something that holds ...
