Wild wild flower

Just grow a little, step by step every day and bloom in the sunshine is what she whispered in my ears. It’s okay if you don’t make it perfectly but finish what you start, the wind told. Looking at her I realized she truly stands by what she says, drop by drop she kept the waste water absorbing and produced a new leaf every day until she was strong enough to create a flower. It stuns me to see the amount of patience and wisdom these tiny creatures hold in them, they are the one which gives me hope and an instant smile. Here, I am talking about a wild trailing plant which is growing beside the wall of our work place. This little one has very green heart shaped leaves, it gives out paper thin white purplish flowers which are like moonlight shining in the full sun. Just looking at her can bring down the turmoil of thoughts.

No, this is not blabbering to prove how beautiful flowers are! Indeed they are the most colorful and cheerful piece of art which lives and dies every single day. I am calling her a wild flower the color factory, I don’t know her name and do not want to even know or name her anything. She is wild, a sucker and a survivor. What makes her immensely beautiful is her capacity to absorb the waste we humans generate, she is thriving on the water which the air conditioner produces to cool us inside the four walls.  Growing by the gutters, soaking in filth and giving out a beautiful landscape is something only these plants do. It is like they are continuously telling me to focus on creating magic out of all the dirt that is thrown on one. It is just mesmerizing to know that the fact that they are producing what we breathe out of the muck we produce.

These wilds remind of our deeds as a human being and the strength we can imbibe to achieve the impossible looking tasks. Here is a little poem which I wrote in admiration for all the wild flowers which are working continuously to beautify our filth and provide us with good air.

Art comes with a price

Art comes with a price and the price is discipline. In an ideal situation, assuming you have absolutely no other drama going on in life and all you need to do is sit and work on your art, even in this best situation what is required is discipline, routine of creating every single day and making things work. Art is demanding and one undeniable thing is discipline, you need to sit down, create a routine and follow the routine even when you are at your lowest. Great people who have existed and the ones who exist now have one thing in common to say and that is “Take time out and devote it to your art every single day".  Lately, I haven't felt really motivated to do anything but I try my best to be disciplined and put out something and something is always better than nothing. This is one such piece I created out of this mantra, I was not having much of a clue about what I want to create, turned out beautiful. Calligraphy can find its way anywhere, said my teacher and it stuc...

Nothing is better than a classic

Nothing can beat a classic Mandala. In every art form classics remain unmatchable, the timelessness they have cannot be matched and they seem too far away from hiding any poorly treated but true issues. Their backbone is their mirroring quality and impeccable strength to represent the truth. Like a good movie a good painting will definitely remind you about your life, your struggles, your hesitations and the truth hidden behind the sheets of sugar coated lies.  Best art comes out when you are bound; you are put under a number of restrictions. One flourishes under the pressure, limited resources makes us understand the importance of resources and makes us wiser; this happens because our energy gets focused on those limited things and gives space to organize and use them in the best way. It is a kind of a freedom one feels while working with boundaries. You know how big your arena is and how much you are allowed to stretch. While creating this Mandala, I had nothing in my mind....

Flashback: Mandala the life savior

It has been more than two years since I started making Mandalas. When I drew my first Mandala it was just for fun and the curiosity to create something new, since then Mandalas have been like a friend who is always present to listen to me and hold my hand. Over the time we have developed a bond which imparts energy to me and has become my muse. It has helped me get through my worst and cheered me at my best. Evolving with mandalas has been a thing, it is like a friendship. A kind of a friendship in which you know that there is someone at bay, and no matter if it has been months for years without talking but it is just there unconditionally. For me, Mandalas has been this unconditional love and support. It has taught me not just what it is (what mandala is?) but also helped me in awakening a part of myself which is mostly sleeping.   As it is said that Mandalas are a source of energy in itself and rightly so but to me this art is not just any art but something that holds ...
